Graph-Theoretical Conditions for Inscribability and Delaunay Realizability
We present new graph-theoretical conditions for polyhedra of inscribable type and Delaunay triangulations. We establish several sufficient conditions of the following general form: if a polyhedron has a sufficiently rich collection of Hamiltonian subgraphs, then it is of inscribable type. These results have several consequences: • All 4-connected polyhedra are of inscribable type. • All simplic...
متن کاملHigher-Order Triangular-Distance Delaunay Graphs: Graph-Theoretical Properties
We consider an extension of the triangular-distance Delaunay graphs (TD-Delaunay) on a set P of points in general position in the plane. In TD-Delaunay, the convex distance is defined by a fixed-oriented equilateral triangle 5, and there is an edge between two points in P if and only if there is an empty homothet of 5 having the two points on its boundary. We consider higher-order triangular-di...
متن کاملOn Bus Graph Realizability
In this paper, we consider the following graph embedding problem: Given a bipartite graph G = (V1, V2;E), where the maximum degree of vertices in V2 is 4, can G be embedded on a two dimensional grid such that each vertex in V1 is drawn as a line segment along a grid line, each vertex in V2 is drawn as a point at a grid point, and each edge e = (u, v) for some u ∈ V1 and v ∈ V2 is drawn as a lin...
متن کاملCompleteness and realizability: conditions for automatic generation of workflows
In recent years, workflow technology has greatly facilitated business process modeling and reengineering in information systems. On one hand, the separation of an application’s control structure from the implementation of its task programs simplifies and speeds up application development. On the other hand, the run-time system assists users in coordinating and scheduling tasks of a business pro...
متن کاملNearest Neighbour Graph Realizability is NP-hard
1 I n t r o d u c t i o n This paper investigates the problem of realizing a given graph G as a "nearest neighbour graph" of a set P of points in the plane. Roughly speaking, a "nearest neighbour graph" is a geometric graph formed from a set of points in the plane by joining two points if one is the nearest neighbour of the other. Fig. 1. A mutual nearest neighbour graph One specific kind of ne...
